Abstract

The study aims to explore the combination of SLR, Bibliometric Analysis and Content Analysis on the current scenario of blockchain technology in IT sector recognising the predominant theories used by the researchers. Further, the study also aims to identify the key facilitators and inhibtors for adoption blockchain technology. The study uses VoS viewer, TCCM approach and content analysis. This research meticulously analyses 238 articles published fron 2016-2024. The selected articles are sourced from prominent journals in widely recognised database ‘Scopus’. Further, the results depicts influential fac (0 and inhibitors() that directly impact the adoption of this technology. the results depicts that TOE theory and UTAT theory is widely used in the literature. Whereas, innovation theory and game theory are yet to be explored in detail. This study pioneers a unified framework for blockchain technology as proposed model. This study marks a pivotal contribution, bridging theoretical advancements with practical strategies for the effective implementation of blockchain technology. Policymakers and industry professionals may benefit much from this research in order to better grasp and handle the main obstacles preventing blockchain acceptance. It also enables companies to create plans for properly using blockchain technologies for competitiveness and innovation. This research uncovers overlooked areas and proposes discerning research directions to advance the understanding and implementation of blockchain technology in different industries.
