This study reviews research on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education based on peer-reviewed studies. It examines how technologies such as intelligent tutoring systems, generative AI tools, and personalized learning platforms are changing teaching and learning processes. The findings show that AI can improve students’ higher-order thinking, critical thinking, creativity, and academic writing. It also enhances feedback by providing instant, personalized, and structured responses that support learning and formative assessment. However, the review also identifies challenges, including ethical and privacy concerns, risks to academic integrity, data security issues, and unequal access to AI technologies. Overall, the study suggests that AI has strong potential to improve education if it is used responsibly and aligned with educational goals. It also highlights the changing role of teachers—from content providers to facilitators of AI use—and recommends AI literacy training for educators to ensure effective and ethical integration in classrooms.
