Objective: To determine the epidemiological profile of skin cancer (SC) in a hospital in the northeastern highlands of Peru, from 2021 to 2024. Methodology: A non-experimental, retrospective, descriptive, cross-sectional, and correlational study was conducted. The population and sample consisted of patients with histopathological SC findings recorded in the annual cancer registry of the Epidemiology Unit of the HRDC (Regional Hospital of Caracas) during the years 2021 to 2024. The data were processed using SPSS version 25; statistical analysis was based on absolute and relative frequency distributions and confidence intervals with a 95% confidence level. Results: Of the 181 SC cases treated during the study period, the average prevalence was 11.10% (7.08% in 2021 to 13.80% in 2024). The majority were women (53.53%), with low levels of education (24.30% with no schooling and 48.06% with primary education), mostly housewives (58.66%), farmers (22.65%), and artisans (6.62%), all of whom worked without protection, exposed to solar radiation. The most frequent cancers were: squamous cell carcinoma (42.54%), basal cell carcinoma (38.67%), and melanoma (17.12%). The majority (45.30%) came from the province of Cajamarca. Those most affected were 60 years of age and older (76.79%). The most common location was the head (70.16%). Risk factors included advanced age, unprotected sun exposure, agricultural work, housework, and low levels of education. Chi-square analysis revealed a statistically significant association between sex, occupation, educational level, and type of skin cancer (p<0.001). Conclusions: Skin cancer primarily affected older adults, women, and people with low levels of education who were chronically exposed to solar radiation.
