Abstract

In this article, we shall investigate how a Three-Phase AC to DC Converter, coded as TPAC, functions under the control of a Proportional-Integral controller, abbreviated as PI. In a number of industrial applications, such as variable speed drives and power supplies, for instance, this converter plays a highly important role. One reason why the PI controller enjoys widespread usage can be attributed to its simplicity in implementation as well as its ability to control well the output voltage in the converter. Here, our prime interest lies in uncovering how TPAC acts while performing in varying scenarios for simulation purposes, MATLAB/Simulink simulation results can be obtained that describe both the TPAC and the PI controller. The start of the model description of the converter could be either three-phase diode bridge rectifier/DC link capacitor and inverter or the inverter output voltage control by the PI controller. It has been found to be very effective in regulating the desired output voltage. Even in the case of varying loads, the output voltage remains constant, and the analysis also focuses on the performance of the PI controller during the process of conversion of AC to DC. It has fast recovery in the case of power interruptions. It can be seen that the above research has provided valuable information about the operation of TPACs that include PI controllers. It can be considered an important study that gives guidelines on how to design and control TPACs. It aims to improve reliability and efficiency.
